What does Dark Guilds mean

When you think about Dark Guilds of Conduit what comes to mind?

We are having this discussion right now on our CONduit chat, but would love to have the input of our site visitors.

Some Ideas have been a work similar to the Assassin's Creed Logo with a stylized A behind the name

I think of bad guys: Thieves guilds, assassins guilds, the Evil League of Evil, ninjas, pirates, spies and Bond villains (Or parody versions thereof like KAOS), Sith Lords, etc.
